Reiki

Developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the 1920s, Reiki is a Japanese healing arts and is useful for pain, stress and relaxation management, helping to promote healing.  Reiki is a gentle technique that is suitable for even very fragile patients, so it is accepted widely in hospitals and hospices around the world as it is a relaxing form of healing therapy applied through noninvasive, nonmanipulative gentle touch or hovering.

Reiki was traditionally taught directly from doctors and advisors to clients and patients in conjunction with other forms of medicine and therapy.  It is about intuitively recognizing when your energy is off and finding a way to balance it.  Reiki finds the source of the problem and brings healing, whether we know the source of the problem or not.

Reiki has been shown to:

  • Improve ability to cope by promoting relaxation and stress reduction.

  • Reduce anxiety, stress, anger, depression, fear.

  • Help to calm a nervous or emotional habit.

  • Heal at a cellular level - physical, mental and emotional imbalances.
